About WISE 2011
The IEEE sponsored international women in science and engineering conference highlights the important role women play in the ever-expanding fields of science and engineering.
Women from diverse areas including resources, logistics and supply chain, technology, web 3.0, science, engineering, skills-shortages, women and the law, environment and sustainability, as well as health and leadership will discuss their fields of expertise, share their experience and achievement and inspire all women to achieve their full potential.
WISE aims to provide mentoring opportunities for young women in science and engineering to facilitate development, assistance and advocacy as well as opening up career advancement opportunities and guidance for those in key and non traditional roles.
Keynote and plenary speakers include; the Hon. Robyn McSweeny, Minister for Women’s Interests. Professor Margaret Sheil, Professor Wendy Hall, President of ACM Group, CEO Australian Research Council, the Hon. Conference themes:
The conference will provide an opportunity to discuss women's roles in innovative technology in the 21st century across the engineering, technological and science professions and provide great networking possibilities between national and international counterparts, academia, government and industry sectors.
The conference will highlight the important role that women play in the digital, technical and scientific worlds and provide ample opportunity for questions towards our expert panels in each of the following areas:

The forums will be highly interactive, with each panel participant delivering a short introductory speech about her experience/ expertise after which the floor will be opened for vivid and contemporary discussions with conference attendees.
